Nita Taylor

Hi, my name is Nita Taylor. I am a mother of two, a Remedial Massage Therapist and a qualified Chef who is passionate about healthy living and sharing my experience and knowledge of food and healthy lifestyle practices with any individual or group who is interested in improving their health.

My interest in a healthy lifestyle began in 1990 when i was 26. At this time my step mother was diagnosed with cancer and lost her battle to it a year later. Soon after my father was diagnosed with Cancer and after witnessing his wife (my stepmother) go through her battle with cancer, decided that he wanted to know what other treatment options there were for him. This led me down a path of research which exposed me to the various options that were available. My father gave up his fight against cancer 1 1/2 years later and after this experience I found myself wanting to understand more about preventative lifestyle choices.

In 1993 I became a Vegetarian Cooking Demonstrator and a Remedial Massage Therapist. In 1994 I began studying Naturopathy in my desire to learn more about herbal medicine and later that year married a fellow student Naturopath. In 1996 I gave birth to my first child and In 1998 we set up a Live in Health Retreat on the Sunshine Coast and at the same time I began manufacturing and supplying Vegan Health foods throughout South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. In 2000 I gave birth to my second child and decided to concentrate my attention on educating my children from home in a home schooling environment. In 2007 I was employed by Living Valley Springs Health Retreat in their food services department and by 2008 was offered the Head Chef’s position which I continued in until August 2015.

My love for food and flavours from around the world as well as my cultural heritage (Chinese/pacific Islander) has influenced my recipes. I teach plant based, gluten, dairy and sugar free tasty recipes with an emphasis on fresh, living, phyto-nutrient dense, antioxident and enzyme rich, ideas using food as medicine.
